Reconciling in Christ

Working at the intersection of oppressions, The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) affirms the acceptance and full participation of people of all sexual orientations and gender expressions within the Lutheran communion and its ecumenical partners.

 

As a "Reconciling in Christ" Community, Zion has been nationally recognized for its endeavor to live out the Gospel`s principles of inclusiveness and justice for all God`s people.  People of all sexual orientations, gender expressions, and non-traditional family status are welcome to participate in the life of the congregation.  Members of the GLBTQI community worship together with the entire congregation on Sunday mornings and other festival days. 

 

In addition, members from Zion work with the Diversity Task Force on Sexual Orientation and Gender Expression of the Southeast Michigan Synod of the ELCA.
